Tuesday Bests: Infant Pajamas

Hanna Andersson "Night Night Baby Sleepers in Organic Cotton"

These are the Goldilocks of pajamas for infants:  the cotton is not too thick and not too thin, the sleeves and pants are not too long and not too short, and the cuffs are not too tight and not too loose.  Everything about these pajamas is just right!  Design is in the details, and the contrast stitching, zipper, and cuffs make the outfit.

I can't get enough of my boy in stripes, so the many striped options make these all the better.  Rocco wears these pajamas every night, and the few we have are holding up extremely well to the many washings and wearings.  Happy pajama-ing!

Rocco's Nursery

After a long hiatus due to the last months of pregnancy and the first months of new motherhood, I am back in action (at least I will be, slowly but surely)!

What better way to make my blogging re-entry than to show pictures of Rocco's nursery!

Favorites Friday

Friday feature:  favorite finds for my home, for my wardrobe, and in my dreams.

Well it's that time of year.  Time to pack away the shorts and sandals and embrace jeans, leggings, and boots.  Though the fast approaching winter has me less than pleased, the transition into these clothing items always feels refreshing and comfortable.

Onto my favorite for this week! A nice pair of rugged boots is great for both fall and winter.  These Jeffrey Campbell boots are the perfect blend of trendy and classic. They hit the trend of over-the-knee boot for the season, but they can also be worn in the classic knee high style.  Additionally, their full length zippers are oh so welcome (and, in my opinion, necessary on high boots!), and the lace-up detailing on each side of the zippers is divine.

Favorites Friday

Friday feature:  favorite finds for my home, for my wardrobe, and in my dreams.

It's been a long time since my last post, but I thought it prudent to include some favorites from the nursery we're fashioning in our second bedroom.  We can't wait to fill it with a perfect little newborn!

Ordinal Dresser:

Lantern Arc Floor Lamp:

Luca Glider and Ottoman:

Nate Duval Sneakers 2 Print:

We've placed a black changing table topper on top of the dresser (and have it filled with the cutest, tiniest little clothes). The sneaker print hangs over the changing table/dresser and the glider and ottoman sit in the other corner of that wall.  The lamp hangs over the middle of the room for more light (as we have no overhead light in that room -- thanks to those pesky condo developers), and the walls are awash in turquoise!  Turquoise, black, and white with red and lime accents makes for an incredibly cheery place for our little guy to call home!

Soon, we will add the black crib my dad is constructing (with white linens) and hang mobiles around the room of the vintage marionettes I collected as a child.  I just can't wait for it to all come together.  I hope to follow with pictures of the completed room soon!

Frilly, Feminine, Flamenco:  Spanish Showering

I am absolutely in love with these lovely ruffled shower curtains.  They so remind me of the flowing skirts of flamenco dancers.  I love the idea of dressing the bath as if it's a person -- giving the shower it's own skirt.

I have always preferred and procured crisp white shower curtains, but these two have me feeling like I've been missing out!

Feiyue Martial Arts (Wushu) Shoes:

My husband wears these every night for his Kung Fu classes, as do the Shaolin monks who teach him.  At $15 a pop, they deliver performance and style on the cheap.  I like that they look a little bit retro, a little bit Converse-like, and a lot bit unique.  I'm picking a pair up for myself to wear with shorts in the summer!

Favorites Friday

These Savannah Story Busts are so whimsical and sweet.  I already have the gazelle (no longer on Anthropologie's website) hanging on my living room photo wall, but I would love to hang the complete set of 4 in a nursery some day!  I was tickled to see (when I received the gazelle a few days after the Haitian earthquake) that they are all made in Haiti.  The production of these give jobs to Haitians who need them and also reduces waste by re-purposing it.
